Originally thought to be an extinct species called Crocodylus Ossifragus, fossils of Crocodylus Siamensis are found across the island Java in Indonesia. The Siamese crocodile (Crocodylus siamensis) still exists today and is a medium-sized freshwater crocodile, however the species is currently critically endangered. The survival of Crocodylus Siamensis as a species over time proves the success evolution has had in developing this predator.
